Creating Menus in WordPress

How do You Setup Menus in WordPress?

Steps to Take

  1. Open Site Admin in New Tab:
    1. Hover over your site name.
    2. Right-click and open the link in a new tab to keep the current page open.
  2. Navigate to Menus:
    1. In the new tab, go to the Menus section.
  3. Create a New Menu:
    1. Enter a name for your menu (e.g., Main Menu).
    2. Click “Create Menu.”
  4. Add Menu Items:
    1. Click “View All” to see all available pages.
    2. Select the pages you want to add (e.g., Home, Contact Us, Shop).
    3. Click “Add to Menu.”
  5. Customize Menu Items:
    1. Change navigation labels if needed (e.g., change “Gluten-Free Premix and Diet” to “Home”).
    2. Rearrange the order by clicking and dragging items.
  6. Save the Menu:
    1. Scroll down and click “Save Menu.”
    2. Ensure the menu has been updated by checking for a confirmation message.
  7. Assign the Menu:
    1. Go to the settings section.
    2. Select your newly created menu (e.g., Main Menu) and save changes.
  8. Refresh Your Site:
    1. Reload your site to see the new menu.
    2. Ensure the menu items appear correctly.
  9. Test Menu Links:
    1. Open each menu item in a new tab to verify they link to the correct pages.
  10. Final Adjustments:
    1. Make any necessary tweaks to menu items or order.
    2. Save and refresh as needed to see updates.
